TAKI profile

 

TAKI is a Quechuan word meaning "song" or "melody".

Project TAKI was formed by three native Ecuadorian musicians with extensive experience and achievements worldwide to express the essence, delicacy and sublime of Andean music through instruments and songs.

 

"TAKI" is a new ensemble that emphasizes the sound of Andean folk instruments and the creation of natural sounds. It will definitely captivate the audience as a more authentic form. Enjoy the world of TAKI's music.

LUIS MAIGUA

 

Leader of "SISAY". Started music in his 20s and was active in North America from 1988 to 1991. Performed in Europe in 1992. In 1993, he visited Japan for the first time to introduce Ecuadorian culture at the recommendation of the Ecuadorian Embassy in Japan. After that, he started music activities in Japan and expanded his activities to other parts of Asia (Singapore, South Korea, China, etc.). His charango, inspire the audience to feel the strength of the Mother Earth, he is one of the best players in Ecuador.

TAKI LUIS

ANTONIO MALDONADO

 

Like Amado Maigua, he was enrolled in Kanatan ASKI and performed in Canada for many years until 1995. Currently, he is performing in various places around the world as a member of "SISAY". he is also formerly a member of the famous and most representative band of tradicional music in Ecuador "Ñanda Mañachi".  A veteran musician with a reputation for artistry and technicality, specializing in traditional Ecuadorian music.

JAIME GRAMAL

 

Growing up in an environment where musicians gather, learning music as something deep and close to you.

In addition to the traditional wind instrument like the quena and siku, he is also good at playing charango. From 2005 to 2007, he was active mainly in Korea as a member of "SISAY KOREA", and then participated in "SISAY (Japan)".

In addition to his performance style, the lively, straight and expressive vocals are unparalleled. A young musician with high expectations for the future.
